Tony Simon is our co-host on Ask Gun Questions, and he’s the founder of 2A4E: The 2nd is For Everyone. His Diversity Shoots bring brand-new shooters and longtime gun owners to the range together to learn safe shooting and their Second Amendment rights.
What is 2A4E?
2A4E stands for The Second Amendment is For Everyone. Tony started the Diversity Shoot in 2015 with one simple idea: everyone is welcome, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, politics or background. It’s part range day, part civil-rights workshop, and part community meetup.
What happens at a Diversity Shoot
- Safety first: Instructors are on hand to teach new shooters how to handle and shoot a firearm safely.
- Range time: You get the chance to try a variety of firearms with help close by.
- Know your rights: A plain-talk discussion of the Second Amendment, current laws, and why the right matters today.
- Get involved: Second Amendment advocacy groups explain what they do and how you can help.
- Good company: Food, swag bags and prizes, and a room full of people who are glad you came.
Never shot before? That’s who these events are built for. You don’t need your own gun, gear or experience. Just bring an open mind, and check the event page for what’s included and any ID requirements.

About Tony Simon
Tony is a Marine Corps veteran and a firearms instructor who runs Simon Says Train. He got involved in Second Amendment advocacy after the wave of new gun laws in New Jersey following Sandy Hook. In 2015, while testifying on a bill, he noticed he was the only Black pro-2A voice in a room of over 100 people. He decided to do something about it.
The first Diversity Shoot had six attendees. Since then, 2A4E has trained hundreds of people from every walk of life, at ranges in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Nebraska. Tony also hosts the 2A4E podcast, and you can catch him with us when we answer questions LIVE on Saturday.
